Subscription & Cancellation Policy
ShopList SA is operated by sholistsa (“we”, “us” and “our”). Website: shoplistsa.co.za. Contact: support@shoplistsa.co.za.
Plan and free trial
Eligible first-time subscribers receive a 14-day free trial. Payfast verifies the card securely and the eligible trial starts at R0.00. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, billing starts automatically at R29.00 per month. One paying subscriber sponsors one household. Active household members can collaborate on that household without each purchasing a separate subscription. A member needs their own subscription only for functionality that requires their own paid entitlement, such as sponsoring another household or paid personal content. If a subscriber cancels during the original free-trial period and restarts before that original trial end date, ShopList SA may allow the unused remainder of that same trial to resume. The original trial end date is not extended and no second trial is created.
Recurring billing
The subscription renews monthly through Payfast until cancelled. Before trial setup or checkout you must expressly authorise the 14-day trial, the first billing date and the recurring R29 monthly charge. ShopList SA records evidence of that authorisation, including the plan, amount, frequency, policy version and acceptance time.
Cancellation
You can cancel from My Subscription. ShopList SA sends the cancellation to Payfast to stop future recurring charges. Cancellation does not delete household data. If cancellation occurs during the free trial, no first R29 charge is due and trial access continues until the trial ends. After paid billing begins, paid access ordinarily continues until the end of the current paid period. If a statutory right requires a different outcome, that right prevails.
Failed payments and grace
If a renewal cannot be confirmed, ShopList SA may provide a limited grace period. If payment remains unresolved after the grace period, paid household functionality may become read-only until a valid subscription is restored. Existing household data is not automatically deleted because payment ends.
Household sponsorship
A subscription may sponsor one household at a time. The sponsor must be a member of that household. A household cannot simultaneously have multiple active sponsors through this plan. Future versions may provide controlled sponsorship transfer.
Price changes
If the subscription price changes, ShopList SA will provide appropriate notice and will not silently substitute a materially different recurring charge without the consent or process required by applicable law and payment-provider rules.
Consumer rights
This policy does not remove any cancellation, cooling-off, disclosure or other rights you have under applicable South African consumer law.
