1. About ShopList SA

ShopList SA is a shopping-list and household collaboration service. It provides personal and shared lists, recipes, shopping workflows, product/barcode features and related functionality. Paid functionality is offered through a recurring household subscription.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless you promptly notify us of unauthorised access. You may not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, or use it unlawfully.

3. Household sharing

A household may contain multiple members. Information intentionally added to shared household areas can be viewed and changed by authorised household members. Household owners and members should only invite people they trust.

4. Paid subscription

Eligible first-time subscribers receive a 14-day free trial. Payfast securely verifies and stores the card during trial setup; ShopList SA does not receive or store your full card number, CVV or expiry date. No subscription charge is taken during the eligible trial. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, the ShopList SA Household plan automatically begins at R29.00 per month and renews monthly until cancelled. One subscription sponsors one household. The trial, first charge date, price and billing frequency are shown again before checkout.

5. Cancellation

You can cancel future recurring billing from the Subscription page. Cancellation stops future recurring charges and does not delete your lists or history. If you cancel during the free trial, no first subscription charge will be made and access continues until the trial ends. Otherwise, unless applicable law requires differently, paid access continues until the end of the current paid period. See the Subscription & Cancellation Policy.

6. Refunds and statutory rights

Refund requests are handled under our Refund Policy and applicable South African law. Nothing in these Terms excludes, waives or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act, Electronic Communications and Transactions Act or other applicable law.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep ShopList SA available and reliable, but internet, hosting, third-party and maintenance issues may occasionally interrupt the service. Features may evolve. Material changes to paid terms or policies will be communicated in an appropriate manner and, where required, renewed acceptance will be obtained.

8. User content

You retain responsibility for list, recipe and other content you enter. You grant ShopList SA the limited permission needed to host, process, back up and display that content so the service can operate and share it with household members you authorise.

9. Intellectual property

ShopList SA's software, branding, interface, original content and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of ShopList SA intellectual property to users.

10. Privacy

Personal information is processed as described in the Privacy & POPIA Notice.

11. Contact and complaints

For support, billing or privacy queries, contact support@shoplistsa.co.za. The final production version must also display the supplier disclosures noted at the top of this document.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, subject to any mandatory consumer rights and jurisdiction that apply.
